Behind the Scenes II – Planning a European Roadtrip

Time got away from us but here is the second instalment of Behind the Scenes II Planning a European Roadtrip.

Arrived in England we picked up Betsy our campervan and she is as beautiful, as when we left her.  We did need a new battery as they have suffered one of the coldest winters in 35 years.

We have also booked her in for a tune to make sure all is well before we leave.We redid her MOT before putting her in storage so we did not have to worry about that on arriving. For details on MOT and buying a campervan in the UK see our post here.

We have uploaded a video of this behind the scenes II to youtube which you can see here.

If you missed Part I click here.

The video covers the following;

Worksheets on destinations for Miss B schooling of key interest is edhelper and we now create our own kids travel worksheets based on road schooling – Kids travel worksheets

Offline Maps App Maps.Me

Copying and scanning in credit cards and important documents and emailing to yourself or storing securely

Cleaning out Phones and storage devices ahead of what will undoubtedly be a lot of photo and video taking

Alerting Bank that you are going away so cards are not stopped by financial institutions

Taking Cash for country you will arrive in so you can hit the ground running

Ensuring passwords, banking tokens or login details for various memberships are with you

Bills list of what to expect when you are away so if one does not arrive you know who to contact and where it goes to so you can chase it

Everyone plans differently, no one way is correct and I am sure there is other things we could add. This is to give people who may be doing it for the first time some of the key areas to consider to make the trip more enjoyable.

Happy Travels!!
