Third oldest Pub in Australia – Rose & Crown Hotel Est 1841

Who doesn’t like visiting a pub!  The Rose & Crown Hotel did not let us down.

While in the Swan Valley recently we went for a walk at Bells Rapids Trail Walk.  It was fantastic and details of the walk are in a separate post.

When we finished we were famished. We headed into Guildford on the way home, it is such a beautiful town. A great place to stop for morning tea on the way to the Swan Valley wineries.  Sensing a theme in this post, pubs, wineries lol!

We love checking out pubs, breweries and wineries, especially in country areas. There is something special about them and the nostalgia of their local areas contained in each one.

The Rose & Crown Hotel is Australia’s third oldest pub and Western Australia’s oldest operating hotel.

The Grub

The girls and I ate at the Bar & Beer Garden restaurant and shared a Chicken, Caramelised Onion, Sun dried Tomato and Brie Pizza.

Don’t judge we just did 1.5 hours hike!

And something that all of us don’t normally eat but indulged in a side plate of THE best hot chips with tartare sauce we have had – YUM!  The menus are available here.

 Cider

While I was ordering I noticed the great beverages available on tap.  I thought as I was writing a blog post on the establishment I should at least try one beverage (the things I do for you all hehe). I decided to be responsible and got The Naked Apple, Cloudy Apple Cider, which did not disappoint!
