Day 7 of our Bibbulmun Track adventure with our 12 year old daughter. Leaving Nerang to Gringer Creek Hut and the most exciting bit, it is only 16km!!
After yesterday Miss B and I are very grateful for this short day of hiking.

Changes to terrain on Bibbulmun Track
We have shown the various changes to the terrain on our Bibbulmun Track youtube videos.
Today is a great day, it’s pretty flat and after the last few hiking days – very welcome!
Your mind begins to wander
Hitting day 7 your thoughts are beginning to wander. You are really starting to enjoy yourself and not think about how old you feel, how sore your feet are (they still are, your just not thinking about them as much!)
Your body is getting used to the expectation that your going to ask it to do it again tomorrow!
Even a day trip to the bush can calm your mind, provide inner peace and reinvigorate your energy.
By day 7 we are feeling pretty awesome.
Education of Miss B
On the youtube for Day 7, I discuss the numerous education opportunities that pop up on an adventure like our Bibbulmun Track hiking.
From flora and fauna to elevation, dehydation, rehydrating food, pack weights, distances the list is endless and not to mention the added bonus of independence (may regret that later! lol).
Arriving at Gringer Creek Hut on the Bibbulmun Track
Being such a quick hike today, the 16km goes by in a flash.
Once hitting Gringer Creek, we read through the journal and note a few people discussing the roadhouse not far away.
Brett identifies on his maps me app and set off into the bush.
Keep in mind, adding any unnecessary kilometres when on a through hike is slightly absurd! Thanks honey your the BEST!
We were very excited to see him return and even more so with what he had with him!
Sugared ourselves up, with the enjoyment of a chocolate feast on Easter morning! It was fabulous and Miss B was so excited I thought she would burst.
Great finish to the day, relax, eat dinner of dehydrated spaghetti bolognese – it is so yum, definitely our favourite.
Great day of hiking Nerang to Gringer Creek!
Extra Information you may want to know
The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails. The track stretches a mere (?) 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, to Albany on the south coast of Western Australia.
We left on our hike from Kalamunda (Northern Terminus) on the 13th March 2020.
There was lots of preparation, planning and packing and dehydrating and excitement in the lead up to our hike!
This REALLY made the hike more enjoyable and all future hikes we will ensure more hydrating of meals is done in advance and sent ahead.
