Hiking Mt Wells to Chadoora Hut Bibbulmun Track

Day 9 of our Bibbulmun Track adventure saw us go from Mt Wells to Chadoora Hut.

Today was a baby 15.6km hiking and a great relief from yesterdays big day!

There is a lot of anticipation to reach Dwellingup tomorrow and what it holds!!

Namely, a shower, drinks, pub meal at the Dwellingup pub and a restock from the IGA.

But, we are not there yet!

High Spirits and track fit

By this stage your body is aware of the torture, I mean enjoyment, you are going to put it through each day.

Your packing time is improved, your keen to hit the track and basically we are a well oiled machine!

Hiking Weather

Perfect weather today, not too hot, not too cold just a little overcast. This had us smashing it out in no time and smiles all round.

Logs down on Bibbulmun Track

When hiking on the Bibbulmun Track you will come across trees down regularly.  Some are huge and fallen from a storm and you will have to go around them.

Others have a walkway cut through the middle to continue on your path.

When you see a small tree crossing the path, always check for track markers as some hikers put them there to steer you in the right direction.

It is very easy to get lost in your thoughts when hiking.  Especially when on a main track and needing to detour off into the bush, it is very easy to miss a marker.

Chadoora Hut and an Angel

Chadoora Hut

Hitting Chadoora hut and a bit cooler weather, it was not long before coffee and hot chocolates were in hand and we warming up while enjoying the bush scenery.

A beautiful surprise from a track angel, in the the hut box – we found choc chip biscuits!

I wish, whoever left it could have seen Miss B’s face when she found them! Priceless!

This beautiful gesture means a lot when you have been hiking over multiple days and sugary sweets are not in abundance.

A nice easy dinner of Mie Goreng, which after all our delicious dehydrated foods was a little disappointing! Lol, how spoilt we have been.

What a great day of hiking Mt Wells to Chadoora Hut on the Bibbulmun Track.

Extra Information you may want to know

The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails.  The track stretches a mere (?) 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, to Albany on the south coast of Western Australia.

We left on our hike from Kalamunda (Northern Terminus) on the 13th March 2020.

There was lots of preparation, planning and packing and dehydrating and excitement in the lead up to our hike!

This REALLY made the hike more enjoyable and all future hikes we will ensure more hydrating of meals is done in advance and sent ahead.
